Our priorities for family and community engagement:
Committing to ensuring that every family has access to the information and resources they need to support their child's education by advocating for parent liaisons in every school, so that families can easily connect with their child's school and stay informed about their education.
Ensuring military families have the support they need to thrive in our school system by ensuring the Student Services Department has dedicated resources to support military families and address their unique needs.
Believing in the power of strategic partnerships between schools and local businesses or community organizations to ensure every school has a strategic partnership in place, so that our students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
Pratter understands that family and community engagement are essential to student success. As a parent of a PWC student and a son of an educator, he knows firsthand the importance of having an engaged and responsive school board member who actively communicates with families and community members.
Pratter believes in building strong partnerships with community organizations to provide resources and opportunities for our students. He sees himself as a bridge and connector within the District, working to bring together families, educators, organizations, faith-based leaders, local businesses and community members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
As a school board member, Pratter will prioritize meeting with constituents, holding regular town halls, and being accessible to community members. He believes that by working together, we can create a school system that truly meets the needs of all students and families in Prince William County.
